The hidden and unexpected benefits of hiring a Copywriter

unexpected benefits of hiring a VA or Copywriter
What little hidden benefits do you get when you hire a great copywriter?

While it may seem like we simply write or edit words, as copywriters we actually do a lot more. And I am very excited to show you what I mean! In truth, there are several unexpected benefits for you when you hire a copywriter.

As an experienced copywriter, I am able to look at the ‘bigger picture’ when reading your project brief. I often suggest strategies that align with your business goals.

And, I actually care about how the work will look once published, either online or offline.

Let me explain...

When a client engages me to write a blog, they pay for my research, writing and editing skills. I pour my heart and soul into that writing – I write and edit and then write and edit a little bit more.

You might think that is the end of the project. Once I send the blog off to the client, they pay me and that’s it – on to the next one without looking back.

Think again.

What you might not know, is that I still think about that piece of writing long after I’ve sent it off into the world.

While I trust in the process and know I have written a great piece of copy, I still want to ensure a great final outcome. And trust doesn't necessarily trump genuine caring. When my eldest daughter first started school, even after I had delivered her to her class, settled her in and knew she was safe with her new teacher - I couldn’t help checking in later in the day by driving past the school at play time (in a non-creepy way!).

While it might be a bit of a stretch to compare a business blog to one of my beautiful off-spring, I do care about each piece of writing I produce or work on!

I am able to look at the ‘bigger picture’

So, what little hidden benefits do you get when you hire a great copywriter? Well, it’s another person “on your side” working to help your business to succeed. Just to take the online world for a start:

  • When you post a link to the blog on your Facebook or Linkedin, it’s likely I will “like” your post – now all my followers are seeing your blog and maybe clicking through to your website.

  • I might even leave a comment thus increasing your ‘engagement’.

  • I can’t help myself; I will probably check on the link and make sure it works.

  • I might (privately) let you know if I spot any major errors in any other posts you’ve shared.

  • I show you ways to re-purpose and get value from each piece of content.

And offline:

  • I’m here so you can bounce ideas off me.

  • I can view a "proof" of any printed copy.

  • I can source other marketing channels.

Extra eyes and ears

You can absolutely write the blog yourself. But hiring me not only saves you time.

It actually brings another point of view into the strategy. Another person on your ‘team’ and extra eyes into your business.

I have focused on blogs so far, but the same can be said for any writing.

When I write your web copy, I might share your page, promote your business and talk about your business when I meet someone who might need the services or products you sell.

When I write email sequences, or advertorials, or newsletters….. you’ve again got another person rooting for you and your business and promoting your work.
